Disk cleanup feature is available in all the versions of Microsoft Windows I mean in Windows Xp, Vista, 7, 8, 10 we all should use disk cleanup feature regularly as a maintenance task of our computer running Microsoft Windows if we don’t use this feature regularly then our Local Disk (c) will be full of waste junk files like cache files, Temporary files etc. and those files occupy the disk space and as the occupy the disk space they will also use the resources of our computer and then our computer’s speed will decrease and sometimes it don’t boot also and hence usage Disk Cleanup feature in Windows running computers is a must perform task.

What Actually Disk Cleanup Is?
Disk Cleanup in Windows OS is a inbuilt feature or a option we can say Disk cleanup can be performed on any of the disks attached to your computer, in this process disk cleanup will analyze the disk which you have chosen and within a few minutes it shows how much of junk files are saved in the disk. Disk cleanup don’t delete your personal files and data and it gives you the list of junk files which you have to choose which you want to delete from your computer.
How To Use Disk Cleanup In Windows 7, 8 and 10?
So it’s now time to start the tutorial and show you how to perform disk cleanup in your windows 7, 8 and 10 computers.
To use disk cleanup in Windows 7 and 8 first of all open ‘Computer’ Window and you can aces that from the desktop in both Windows 7 and 8.
After opening that you can see your disks attached to your computer, when it comes to disk cleanup you should always focus on ‘Local Disk (c)’ or where ever you have installed Windows because the most of the junk and waste files are gathered in that disk so in my case in have installed Windows in Local Disk (c). So I have to right click on that disk.
After Right clicking on that select ‘Properties’ after clicking on properties you can see a window opened showing the properties of your disk just like shown below.
Click on ‘Disk Cleanup’
Now click on ‘Disk Cleanup’.
After clicking wait for a few minutes and after few minutes you can see something like shown below
Select the files you want to delete and then click on ‘OK’.
Now the real task of Disk Cleanup begins you can see a list of files below ‘Files to delete’ you have to select the files which you want to remove from your computer and before that you can see the a statement telling that ‘You can use Disk Cleanup to free up to ** MB of disk Space on (selected disk)’ this shows how much of MB disk space you can get after performing Disk Cleanup.
In my case I can free up only 7.03 MB of disk space as shown above in the image because I use Disk Cleanup often and would like to recommend you too to perform Disk Cleanup regularly.
After selecting the files click on ‘OK’, and you are done.
Note: Once the files are deleted from your computer by Disk Cleanup feature can’t be regained so select the files to delete carefully.
